Stop The World

Ok, so once again I broke a promise.  In my last post I told you I was going to write the blog post about Drake Bell that night and post it the next morning.  That didn't happen.  I didn't write it that night...instead I got sucked into watching The Big Bang Theory.  Sorry.  It's just that show is so good.  As for all the other days that I didn't post the blog.

  1. I'm lazy
  2. I let my sister borrow my computer so she could do her homework and she kept it for a few day.
I will write it...eventually.

Moving on...
Aranda released their 2nd album today. "Stop The World" It's on iTunes now. Physical copies won't be in stores until February 14th.

Between seeing their live shows and watching performances on YouTube, there wasn't really a song on the album that I hadn't heard yet.  I was really excited to finally be able to hear the songs the way they were recorded...and to be able to listen to them whenever I want instead of just being able to hear them at Aranda shows.

"Undone" The first single off of the new record.

Head over to iTunes and check out "Stop The World" you won't regret it.  I love all 10 songs but my favorites are: "Love Hitchhiker", "Hey Sally", "Satisfied" and "Undone"
They also have a self-titled album that was released in 2008.  Although I recommend the deluxe edition that was released in 2009.  It includes 3 live tracks.
    Dameon Aranda
    Gabe Aranda
Both photos are from when I saw them with Crossfade in August.

R.I.P Joplin

It's been a sad week.  Our cat Joplin went missing.  Last night we found her dead in a ditch.  We only had her for around 8 months...poor baby girl!

The day we got her:

Dinner Party with Famous People

Last night I introduced my mom to the greatness that is The Bloggess. Well I didn't actually introduce her to Jenny Lawson, I don't know her...so I can't really do that; but you know what I mean.  She loves The Bloggess now.  We read her blog for hours.

One post we came across was about which famous people she would invite to a dinner party.  I decided to make my own list of who I would invite in the event that I were to have a dinner party.

  • Steven Tyler- I've been reading his book lately, very interesting.
  • Jim Parsons (Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory)- Started watching that show about a month ago; love it!
  • Zooey Deschenal
  • Zach Braff
  • Molly Ringwald
  • Russell Brand
  • James Taylor
  • Jimmy Buffett
  • Michael Buble
  • Ellen Page (She played Juno)
  • and if people from the past could be there...definitely Audrey Hepburn.
  • Leigh Kakaty, Tony Greve and Matt Dirito of Pop Evil
  • and of course Crossfade

Yes, I realize some of those people wouldn't really go together, but I don't care; it's my imaginary party and I can invite them if I want to.

If you could have a dinner party and invite famous people who would you choose?

These Times

365 days, 156 blog post and 15 shows...now 2011 is over.  It was a pretty awesome year.

I saw a lot of my favorite bands, rediscovered my love for a band from my past;(Crossfade) even found a few new ones.

2012 didn't start out very well for me.  Trichotillomania got it's way with me in the early hours of New Years.  Now I have about 5 eyelashes remaining on my left eye...it looks ridiculous.  Which brings me to my next point, the first photo in my 2012  inspired by song lyrics 52 weeks project  is "Annie" by SafetySuit:

"She never looked in the mirror
she never liked what she would see"

I can't stand looking in the mirror when my eyelashes and/or eyebrows are missing.  So not only is week one's photo relevant to that fact, but also SafetySuit released their sophomore album "These Times" yesterday.  iTunes has the album for $6.99 and has listed the track "These Times" off of  the album as the single of the week...which means you can download it for free.

The new album is awesome.  I love every song on it.  New album and new year mean new tour...hopefully they'll finally come back to Little Rock this year, they haven't been here since November 11, 2009.  That was way too long ago.

PS: I think my theme for 2012's 52 weeks is going to be photos inspired by song lyrics.  I think that will be fun.
