178-180: "You're Just A Little Bit Camera Shy but You're Still A Star" (again)

Day 178:

Cheese pizza from Mazzio's.

Day 179:

Found this elephant lamp in my room when I moved back home.

Day 180:

Today I went over to have dinner with Heather and Kyle at their house. Doodlebug was being camera shy.

Which was actually perfect because I have been wanting to do a photo based off of "Camera Shy" by School Boy Humor for my inspired by song lyrics series.

Speaking of School Boy...I'm really sad because they had a show on the 26th and I couldn't go.  This was their first home show in 3 months.  Oh well.  I'll just have to wait til they come home again.

I have been a pretty sucky blogger lately.  I'm sorry.  I'm so behind on my posts.  I haven't written my The Red Jumpsuit Appartus post from when I saw them on May 2nd or my Aranda post from May I still need to write the Crossfade post from when I saw them on June 10th.

I'll try to catch up tomorrow if I can.

PS: Yes, I know I have already used those lyrics as a title, but it fits and I like them so hence the (again)

173-177: Tigger the Pooh

Day 173:

This is the kit lens (lens that came with the camera when I bought it) 18-55mm.  I didn't used to to like it but now I've discovered that it is a pretty cool lens.

Day 174:

A freind gave me this key chain when The Tigger Movie came out.  I think I was in the 6th grade then.

Day 175:

A few days ago my aunt found this letter and these picture that Mom had sent to my great grandma on August 11th 1988.  In the letter she talks about her garden and how much my sister was learning to do.  (She was seven months old at the time.)

Day 176:

This is my cousin Hunter taking a picture of me as I am taking a picture of him at my Aunt Pam and Uncle Greg's wedding, it was held in my parents garden; wedding I actually enjoyed attending.  It was Hawaiian themed.

Day 177:

I tried getting artsy with my parents Grandfather clock.  I like how it turned out.  I love how you can see the reflection of the chandelier in the glass.

I can't believe I am already this far into my 365 project.

Day 170:

Tomatoes from my parents garden.

Day 166:

My Papa came by for a visit, as he was leaving I took a this of his car.

Day 167:

I didn't know what to photograph on this day. This is one of my shirts.

Day 168:

Kyn loves to swing; even though she can use a big swing now she still likes to use her baby one on occasion.

160-164 "...Cause I Saved A Few and I Keep Them In a Jar"

Sorry I haven't posted in a while...

Day 160:

I had been planning on doing a photo inspired by "Fireflies" by Owl City sometime during this project, but I didn't know how I was going to do it.  Thursday my cousin Logan came over and we spent the entire day outside.  It was getting late and I didn't have my picture of the day yet.  Logan saw a firefly and started talking about how he and his friend's used to catch them at his Dad's house.

I asked my mom to go get a jar; I was just going to get Logan to catch some for me so I could photograph them in the jar.  I managed to snap this shot of him catching them and decided it would be much better.

"Fireflies" by Owl City:

Day 161:

Friday I saw Pop Evil open for Crossfade at Juanita's.

Day 162:

It was midnight by the time Crossfade took the stage. I always love when that happens...because then I  don't have to worry about what I'm going photograph for that day.  I'll write about the show sometime this week. Tuesday. (I really will. I promise.)

Day 163:

After the show I stayed up until 6 in the morning and then woke up at 7 to go to the lake with Brook.  We didn't get home from the lake until 11PM.  I was so tired.  I spent most day 163 in bed.  I was lazy and asked Kynley to come in my room so I could take her picture so I didn't have to get out of bed.  Thankfully  she was in a happy mood and agreed to let me photograph her.  We decided to make silly faces.

I see other photographers do shots like this; light and dream like.  I've always loved them and wished I could figure out how to make my pictures turn out that way.  I finally figured it out.  This was my first real try at it. At first I didn't like the photo since it is only half of my face...but I keeps growing on me each time I see it.  I'm not very good at self portraits.

159/365: Black and White Wednesday- Barbie the Disabled Photographer

This Barbie basically describes me. I got it one year when I was little as Christmas gift.  Funny thing is I wasn't even into photography back then.  I remember being really excited to see that Barbie was in a wheelchair too.

It took forever to get this shot.  You would think she would be easy to photograph since she is a doll and can't move.  I started photographing her around 1:00 PM and didn't like any of the photos.  took a break and tried again at 4:00 PM...still didn't like any of them.

Gave it one last try at 8:00 PM. Didn't like any of them. Until I decided to take one last shot.  Maybe I'm too picky or maybe I'm a crappy photography; I don't know which.

For Black and White Wednesday:

A shot I took a few days ago when I did "Breathe" Scrabble.

156/158: Thank You For Smoking

Day 156:

My Mom's birthday.

On my Mom's birthday in 1999 my Uncle Mike died. On her birthday this year my Mom's Uncle Johnny died.

A few years after my Uncle Mike died I wrote a poem about that day:

The Day We Lost It All

I was nine

I thought everything

was going to be fine

but when my Grandma got that call

it felt like the world was going to fall

the day we lost it all

Sometimes I wonder

how it would be

if he were still

here with me

I didn’t really understand

why he had to leave

but I believe I will

see him again

someday soon

The day we lost it all

I couldn’t believe he was gone

I didn’t want to face it

but I had to

he was my Uncle

he was my friend

I was so sad the day his life came to an end

Day 157:

I decided that I'm going to start a new series of photos: Based On Song Lyrics.  First up "Breathe" Ryan Star.  In this series a line from a song/the theme of a song will be "acted out" in a photo.

Yes I know playing Scrabble has nothing to do with "Breathe" I just thought it would make for a cool photo.

I'm really excited about this series.   No more pictures of boring objects or food...moving on to using models and props. It's going to be fun!  I even bought a planner and planned out photo ideas, I have two months worth of photo ideas already.

Day 158:

Ever since I started my 365 I have want to take a picture that revolved around a cigarette;  I don't know why.  I don't smoke.  Heather does on occasion. I told her about my planner and that I didn't think I had anything in there that I could do today, except for the cigarette.  She pulled a brand new carton out of  her shopping bag and said she could help me with that.

We went outside and I took 2 or 3 shots before deciding that the shot would turn out better when it got dark outside; so you could easily see the smoke.  Heather took a nap and told me to wake her up when I was ready to try again...

I did; but she was too tired to go out and try again so I am stuck with this shot...which after a little editing I think I might like it better than what I would have gotten in the dark.

154-155: Joplin

Day 154:

Yesterday I found my diary from when I was 10 years old in the garage.  Looking back at it now...I was a goofy kid with awful handwriting.  The stuff that I could actually read was hilarious. None of it was really even important enough to be considered worthy of being written down in a diary.

My mom has really pretty handwriting, so she wrote the Dear Diary seen in this photograph.

Day 155:

We got a kitten today...don't know if it's a boy or a girl yet.  It's name is Joplin after Joplin, Missouri; in honor of Will Norton; an 18 year old who was popular on YouTube. Sadly he died because of the tornado that hit Joplin.

I've watched a few of his videos.  I didn't know about him until he passed away.  They are really good.  He was funny.  Everytime I watch one though I start crying....I wish I could have known him, seems like he was really awesome (cute too! :) )

Here is one of his videos; in this episode Will shows you how to get ready for a date:

R.I.P Will Norton, you are missed!

Even while being held onto by his dad and wearing his seat belt...Will was sucked out of his sun roof on the way home from his high school graduation ...good thing is he was quoting the Bible as this was happening.  I have no doubt that he is with Jesus now.

152-153: Bike Riding Frog

Day 152:

Day 153:

Day Lilly in my parents garden.  This is probably my favorite picture of this project so far. It is SOOC (straight out of camera)
