150-151: "Don't Go Chasing Waterfalls..."

Day 150:

This is a bird church house in my parents backyard, my mom didn't make this one though. It's one of my favorite photos I've taken.

Day 151:

This is more of a water fountain than a waterfall, but that song by TLC popped in my head when I was thinking of a title. I love spending time in my parents backyard, they have so much stuff worth photographing.

149/365: Black and White Light

Don't really have much to say about this photo, it's the lamp on my nightstand.

145-148: Through the Eye of a Mule

Day 145:

Water droplets on the sink.

Day 146:

McKynley swinging at Mimi and Papa's house. I think this may be my favorite shot I have ever taken of my little doodlebug.

Day 147:

My family and I went to visit a family friend's little "farm" they have mules, chickens, goats and miniature horses. McKynley loved it.  Apparantly mules love me (or cameras) they wouldn't leave me alone...they are so sweet; I want one.

Day 148:

Tonight Brook and I went to eat dinner with her step mom and step uncle along with some of their friends at a place in Little Rock called Mimi's Cafe.  It's so good. They have the best muffins that are free with every meal.

144/365: Mello Yello

I painted my nails today.  I don't know what the color is called, but it is part of O.P.I.'s Shrek collection. Not my favorite 365 photo.  Oh well. I'll try for a better shot tomorrow.

143/365: Nail Polish

I bought these bottles of nail polish about a year ago...I never use them though.  They are pretty crappy. You have to put on a lot of coats for it to look the same color as it does in the bottle and it never dries; it just  looks all gooey on your nails.

142/365: Jewelry Box

This is the door of my jewelry box, my Nanny and Papa gave it to me on my 7th birthday. It never really gets used though...The only jewelery I wear is my class ring and up until the chain broke a necklace that belonged to my Nanny Pat before she died.  It pretty much just sits on my nightstand and looks pretty.

141/365: :)

Last night while I was praying, I asked God to help me be able to buy a new lens so I can start shooting weddings in June.

Today I went to the mall with Brook, she wanted to buy some new makeup.  As we were leaving she saw this five dollar bill on the ground and told me to pick it up.  I know $5 won't buy the lens I need...but it's a start.

140/365: Lollipops and Poodles

I found this yellow poodle in Heather and McKynley's closet today, thought it was cute.

For Grace's Snap and Share- the theme is outside:

McKynley at Six Flags in Fiesta, Texas.  I am pretty sure her favorite part of Six Flags was that lollipop.

138-139/365: "...We Should Go While the Candle Still Burns"

Day 138: Heather's hand

Day 139:

I have always wanted to do a shot like this...I wish it would have turned out a little better though.  Heather, McKynley and I might be going on a picnic at  Pinnacle Mountain State Park (which you may remember from day 117) so hopefully I'll get a better 365 photo tomorrow.

Title of this post comes from "While the Candle Still Burns" by Thriving Ivory

Black and White Wednesday- RED with Lovers and Liars

This post is late...I've been promising it for a while now.   On May 1st Heather, Kyle and I went to Juanita's because Lovers and Liars was opening for RED.  This was my 3rd time to see Lovers and Liars.  You may remember when I saw RED for the first time in March.

We arrived at Juanita's about an hour before the doors opened (Cause I refuse to be anywhere but front row. Gotta get there early to protect my spot.)   It was cold outside; Heather and Kyle were hungry so they went over to Midtown to get burgers.  I stayed in line, but was freaking out the whole time that they wouldn't make it back in time before the doors opened to take me in.

While I was waiting I could hear Lovers and Liars doing sound check with their song "Nothing Left Here To Burn"  Heather and Kyle made it back just a couple minutes before the doors opened and I was able to get my spot.

L+L was awesome...I always forget to take video when I see them, dang it! Next time I will.  Stephen (drummer) was set up at the side of the stage this time instead of the back.  He was on my side.  I was happy cause it is hard to get pictures of drummers, so I knew with him being so close I had a good chance of getting an awesome shot.

and you know I always have to get a shot like this; thought I'd change things up a little and go with sepia:

The next band was The Action Blast.  They were really good.  Actually I think I wrote about them a few days ago, but when Blogger stopped working the day I think the post got deleted.  Oh well...stupid Blogger.

Find more The Action Blast songs at Myspace Music

After The Action Blast was a band called Taddy Porter,  I had heard of them and been asked to go to one of their shows before, but it never worked out.  I had never listened to them though.  They were good, although I couldn't understand any of the words they were singing.  Maybe it was just because I didn't know the songs, or I guess it's possible that I'm going deaf.  Hopefully the first option.

Then it was time for RED.  They were honestly the most elaborate show I have ever seen put on at Juanita's, They had a fog machine and in all the times I've been there I have never seen the lights being used as much as RED used them it was borderline annoying actually, they never stopped flashing.  It was driving my eyes crazy.  They did make for good pictures though.

The lead singer kept sweating and spitting all over me, it was gross.  At one point sweat almost got in my mouth. People were crazy.  Bumping into me and stepping all over my feet.  It was fun though. At the very end of their set they filled the room with fog.  It was cold and I gotta say I wasn't really a fan of the fog.   After it was over Heather said she was never going to a RED show again.

I took video of RED"s song "Breathe Into Me" sound quality isn't that great and at one point I sat the phone down to take a picture so there is a part of the video that is just pure blackness...but you can watch it just to see how crazy everything was:

When it was all over we went to talk to Lovers and Liars.  Adam said during the show he was worried that he was bleeding all over me, because he cut his finger while playing. Lucky for me  he didn't get blood on me, I guess it wouldn't really have mattered anyway since by the end of the show I had been sweat and spat on, why not go ahead and throw a little blood into the mix.  I hope they come back really soon.  I'm ready for them to do a headlining show in Little Rock.

137/365: Got Milk?

This is another keychain from my collection.

Day 133:

River boat at the River Walk in San Antonio, Texas

Day 134:

My Daddy posing with Betty Boop in a gift shop at Six Flags

 Day 135:

I don't like this photo.  It's too boring...but we were driving home from Texas...it was a 10 hour drive, it was late and honestly I wasn't in the mood to take pictures.

Day 136:

Today I didn't do much, still tired from our trip. Picture of the clothes I unpacked and put away.

I'll upload more pictures from the trip and tell you about it soon.  (Hopefully tomorrow)

130-131: Brownie Batter

Day 130:

We made brownies yesterday, Doodlebug likes to lick the bowl when we have left over batter. I do too :)

Day 131:

I had no idea what today's picture was going to be.  It was one those days were I waited til the last minute. Most of my rushed shots I don't like, but I  really like this one.  I don't get the chance to do many close ups.  I really want a macro lens, but for now my 18-55mm will have to do.

132/365: Turtle

Heather found this turtle yesterday and brought it to my parents house, but they made her take it back where she found it after a few hours.  We're in Texas now.  I took a bunch of pictures but haven't had much time to go through them yet, so I'll pick day 133 tomorrow.

129/365: Legos?

I'm not too happy with this photo, but it's the best I got today.  First time I've used flash in months.  I hate flash; but nothing was making me happy so I kinda had to use it.

I tried to get a good shot of McKynley playing with these Legos she found. (I'm not sure if they are real Legos though, cause they were very hard to stick together and fell apart easily.) When I was little I played with Legos all the time and I don't remember them being this crappy.

McKynley wouldn't let me photograph her while she was playing, so I built my own tower to photograph.  I'm not sure why they give you a flag that says 'bus' on it. That's a little random...but whatever.

I might start photographing weddings soon, so that's gonna be exciting if it actually happens.  Fingers crossed.

We're taking a family trip to Texas in a few days and going to Six Flags, hopefully I'll capture some good stuff while we're there.  Also, I hope Bugs Bunny stays far away from me...I don't do big bunnies just like I don't do big rats.

Day 126:

Roses in my Mom's garden.

Day 127:

Yesterday Braxton had his 2nd birthday party; it was Disney's Cars themed.

Day 128:

Coco Chanel Mademoiselle.  It smells so good!

124/365: Black and White Wednesday Thursday - If Only Love Were the Cure

This is Natalia, from Boom The Wheel; they opened for Aranda tonight.

Find more Boom The Wheel songs at Myspace Music

You may have noticed the If Only Love Were The Cure widget I added to my blog. It's to help raise money for two little girls who are the only people in the world who have Trichothiodystrophy and Cockayne Syndrome (CS). Both of these disorders carry a sensitivity to UV sunlight with them...as in, it can kill them.

Habitat for Humanity is building them a home.  Make-A-Wish Foundation is going to design a play room for the girls that has UV protected windows. So they can play in the sunlight.  I learned about this by reading Stephen's (drummer for Lovers and Liars) blog. If you click the widget it will take you to a website where you can donate to this cause.

Black and White Wednesday: (or in this case Thursday)

This is a shot from the Lovers and Liars show I went to on Sunday.  I'll try to write the post about it tomorrow.

122/365: Belair

Last night I went back to Juanita's to see The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. This is a shot I got while the opening band named Belair was playing.

PS: I'm going to see Aranda tomorrow; I'm excited. I haven't seen them since 2009.
