120/365: Pink Rabbit

I had no idea what to photograph today, McKynley is visiting her Daddy's side of the family and Heather spent all day with I was pretty bored all day.

I went into Kynley's room and looked through her toy box, since I couldn't think of anything to shoot and found this little bunny.

"Don't Panic, You Can Handle It...It's Just a School Boy Night"

Ok so remember how I saw School Boy Humor last month and I told you I would tell you more about it later? Wll now it's later and I'm bored so I'll tell you.

March 13th Heather and I went to The Rev Room to see our friends School Boy Humor play another hometown show.  This was our 3rd time to see them. It was however the first time we got to see them perform as a full band.  To read about the other 2 times click here and here.

A friend Heather and I went to school with named Stephanie "Miss Hootie" Weaver opened with Dylan Duggar as Pretty People Posse  They were really good.  Stephanie only got to sing one song though...hopefully we will get the chance to see her sing more sometime soon.

After "Miss Hootie" was Free Micah, they are from Little Rock.  You may remember them from the time they opened for Ryan Star and Thriving Ivory.  They did better than the first time I saw them...and if I can remember correctly they were all fully clothed this time.

Then it was time for School Boy.  As I said in the post a few weeks ago, the full band show was good...and I was glad to see them up on stage jumping  around having fun ..but I think I would prefer to see these guys play acoustic.  This was their first time to play as a full band at a home show in 2 years.

I took video but I think it is poor quality and not really worth posting.  Sorry.  This show was pretty short; it was over by 9 and they didn't get the chance to sing many songs because the venue was closing early.  Most shows I go to don't even start til 9.

This is the best shot I could get of Phil, he was constantly moving.

After it was over we went over to talk to Anthony and take pictures.  We tried taking pictures together before the show, but my camera kept acting crazy and wouldn't let us.  I look like I am on crack in the picture so I am not gonna show it to you.

I have noticed a large amount of my traffic flow comes from people Google and/or Bing image searching School Boy Humor/Anthony Evans. For awhile there was a picture of Anthony and I on the first page of Bing when you searched them/him.  It was an awful picture...though it is better than the one that I am refusing to show you, because I would hate if I did and that one also showed up on the first page anytime someone did a SBH search.

I mean don't get me wrong I was kinda excited when I saw that our picture was one of the first ones to pop up, but I just wish it would have been a good one.  We've never taken a good picture together unfortunately.

Anyway here is the picture of Anthony and Heather:

Sadly I didn't get to talk to Phil at all that night.  Oh well.  I'm sure I'll see them again soon.  Before we left Anthony jokingly said he'd see me at Kroger next week.  I promise you everytime I go grocery shopping there while they are home from touring I see him, it's like he lives there or something. :)

PS: Lovers and Liars tomorrow. So excited! Oh and the title of this post comes from "Don't Be Scared" (It's Just a Kick and a Snare) by School Boy Humor:

119/365: Mickey D's

Today Heather and I went on a little road trip to Russellville, AR.  We didn't eat at McDonald's...we did pass by this one though.  We ate at Taco Bell instead.  It was a pretty good day, got to have some sisterly time. Although I do live with her so I guess you could say we always have sisterly time.

PS: I'm super stoked because my Dad said I could start using his old Canon AE-1.  I kinda like the idea of the excitement of never knowing what the photo is going to look like until it's developed.

Happy Belated 1st Birthday!

April 21 2010.

That was the day my blog came to life.  Until that day I can honestly say I had always thought blogging was lame...something only geeks did.  All my life I have been a writer; mostly poems and short stories. When I was 13 I decided to start writing a book. I wrote probably 35 pages before giving up and moving on to start writing a new book. Same thing happened with that book, and countless books after that one.

I guess what I'm trying to say is I never finish anything.  I start something and then a better idea comes along and I work on that one instead.  That's why I am pretty surprised this blog has lived long enough to see it's 1st birthday.

I decided to make a blog after my mom had told me about Jeanine Caron's blog, she had come across Jeanine's blog while Googling something about traveling ....and instantly became a fan.  She would keep telling me wonderful things Jeanine had written and kept showing me her photography...until I also became a fan.

When I first started reading her blog I was just getting into photography; I had a Fujifilm s1000fd point and shoot.  Her photos inspired me to become a better photographer.  Within a few months I had saved up enough money to get a dSLR (Canon Rebel T1i.)

I love music and am addicted to going to shows.  I just love being able to be in the presence of and actually getting to meet and know the artist/bands that make the music that I listen to on my radio/iPod.  I figured blogging about the shows I go to would be a good idea, because it would help me remember them better...not only that but it would be a way for people who may not have had the opportunity to go to the show live vicariously through this blog. Maybe it'll even give the bands a little bit of exposure.

I remember when I first started this the only people that read it were family and even then I had to practically beg them to read it.  Now however I seem to have a pretty good amount of readers from all around the world.  Even some of the rockstars that I write about read it.  I'll go to shows and the bands will say something like:

"...oh yeah you're the girl with the blog, we've been reading it."

I'm not gonna lie, that makes me pretty happy. :)

So I just want to say thanks to all the people that do read and/or comment.  I'm glad to see that somebody cares about what I have to say...

It's been a good first year.  I hope there will be many more and I hope you'll continue reading.

118/365: Sissy's Toms

Heather has Toms too.  They are basically the only shoes we wear anymore.  They are so comfortable.  I like the pair I have; but I also want red ones.

PS: If you are wondering what those colorful things are on the floor in the background, they are some of McKynley's toys, she's a messy little girl.  I kinda think having them there makes the photo more interesting.

117/365: Black and White Wednesday- Kissin' Cousins

Today Heather and I drove to Pinnacle Mountain State Park, it was pretty. We didn't get out of the car since it was stormy...I want to go again sometime when we can get out and get better pictures.

Light Switch in the kitchen

PS: I don't think we are going to The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus show anymore, because they changed the date and now it is the day after the Lovers and Liars show and I know how much Heather hates Juanita's so I don't want to make her go two nights in a row.

109/365: "If You Can Forgive Me...We Can Get Around This Mess"

Heather, Kyle, McKynley and I went to eat pizza at Mazzio's.  I haven't done a chair shot in a while so I figured it was time for another one.

In rockstar news:

I realized today that I still haven't written about seeing School Boy Humor last month; I'll try to do that soon.

Today SafetySuit released their first single off of their upcoming album; the song is called "Get Around This" you can buy it on iTunes now. Here is a video of them singing it acoustic at a radio station; MIX 94.1 I can't wait for the new album to come out. I know it is going to be pure brilliance:

12 days until Lovers and Liars

18 days until The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

108/365: French Soda

Sorry this photo is kinda boring, it was a race against the clock.  I had a pretty boring day; I didn't do anything at all.  Heather bought McKynley's Easter dress today.  It's so cute.  I wanted to take a picture of her wearing it so bad...but if I did it wouldn't be as special as it will be on Easter.

While Heather was shopping she bought this Sparkling Pink Lemonade soda.  I wonder if it taste good.

Hopefully tomorrow's (well actually now it would be today's) photo will be better/more exciting.

105-106:Arthur and the Lion

Day 105:

On the way home from my parents house

Brook, Donnie and I went to the movies last night; We saw Arthur.  It's about this guy (Russell Brand) whose family is rich and if he doesn't marry the girl his mother chose for him he will get cut off from the money, but he wants to try and live without the being rich so he try getting a job out in the real world. It's hilarious.  We laughed the whole time.

Here is the trailer:

Anyways back to the picture.  We had planned to see Soul Surfer but when we got to the theater we were told it was sold out.  So we had to wait about 30 minutes for Arthur to start.  While we waited Brook and Donnie played a video game: Safari Hunter...or something like that.

100/365 The Duckman

Today I snapped a few shots of Heather and "Mr. Kyle" (as McKynley calls him) They aren't my favorite photos...but we decided today that sometime soon we're going to do a full-on photoshoot.  I'm excited!

Also I found out today that The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus is coming to Little Rock May 7th.  I'm really stoked; haven't seen them since 2007.

PS: Title of this post comes from the movie Pretty in Pink...if you haven't seen it you should change that now.  it has Molly Ringwald (Secret Life of the American Teenager) and Jon Cryer (Two and a half Men) in it.  It is basically my favorite movie ever.

Yay...I've made it to day 100 of 365! :)

This is a clock hanging in my parents kitchen.

97/365: Ice Water

This is not the photo I had intended on today; we went to Chili's for lunch and I ordered a drink...Tropical Sunrise.  It was really pretty and colorful, but for some reason I couldn't photograph it well.  So instead here is a cup of water with lemon.

Ugh! I feel like my 365 is boring.  I wanna be one of those photographers where every photo they take is fantastic and exciting, so far that hasn't happened...all I have are shots of food, drinks, cute babies and occasional rockstars.  Oh, well. All I can do is keep trying.

Day 94:

This was going to be day 94 but then I took the picture of the sky and liked it more.

Day 95:

Sorry today's photo is lame.  I had no inspiration.  It was a boring day, we stayed home and watched movies.  At least it's colorful.

PS: Title of this post comes from "Open Skies" by The David Crowder Band:

93/365: Sunday Funday

Today we took McKynley and cousin Braxton to the playground at a school in our hometown.

I got a Cherry Limeade from Sonic, Heather dumped some of it on the ground.

We played at the playground for a while, then we went home and blew bubbles in the backyard.

After a long day of playing Miss McKynley needed a bath.

PS: I found out this afternoon that Lovers and Liars is coming back to Little Rock on May 1st! :) I'd have to say today was a pretty good day.
